3D Modelling

3d modeling is the practice of creating a 3d object in space using mathematical points plotted on a 3-dimensional grid or plane using the X Y Z axis.

Using a series of plot points know has vertices the object is formed with edges and polygonal faces and with the GUI the shape is represented in real time this is called polygonal modeling. most polygonal modeling is done through the manipulation of predesigned Primitives found within the software. These primitives as seen above are then altered and warped to get the desired effect.

There are other types of modeling using within the industry such as NURBS modeling which unlike polygonal modeling can naturally construct curved surfaces

Here is a high poly Model of Baymax a character from a Pixar film although this is a fan make model you can see the detail within it.the polygons are smaller and more compact due to the figures rounded shape this requires more to render a smooth rounded surface.
